There are a lot of companies out there that can help you self-publish your music. My Castle of Dreams Piano Music Sheet Music for Piano in CD format was self-published in 2009 and distributed to the internet by CDBABY. I used Cheeks Studio in Upper Darby, Pa. to record and master the 16 tracks. CDBABY designed the CD cover and jacket.
I created the Children's Chapter Books to tell the story behind the solo piano music on the CD.
My first self-published music project was for the band "Full Moon Express", with the CD entitled "Memories of the Past". The process of getting the CD self-published required a lot of time and research to complete. I took a reel-to-reel tape to Cheeks Studio where it was mastered and digitized. The company CDBABY did the rest. I did all the research to pay the royalty fees for the cover songs we recorded on the CD, using the Harry Fox Agency.
The idea to write the Children's Chapter Books came from the need to tell a story behind the solo Piano Music Sheet Music I had composed.
When someone found my piano music on the Internet and mentioned that their daughter starting dancing to the song Blue Butterfly. I realized that I had written a ballet.
I wrote the first book in order to tell the choreographer the story behind the music.
Castle of Dreams and the Dragon Princess grew into a chapter book series for middle-grade readers. Children making the transition from picture books to chapter books. Currently there are three books in the Castle of Dreams series. The third book has yet to be offically published.
